  • I'm not sure how long it will take for my home to be cleaned, how should I ask for a cleaning & price?
    The best way to determine a length of cleaning in your home due to each home being unique with specific needs & finishes is to have a trial cleaning done. To help determine an estimate it is helpful to know the sqft & your overall specific needs & expectations should be communicated. Text message, email & meeting in person is easiest for this. Initial info is taken from looking up the address of your location & seeing a rough guestimate of finishes and floor types & number of glass shower walls & mirrors, if photos are provided. This is a good first start in giving an estimate of time. Granny's Way House Cleaning Chores, LLC's experience from cleaning will give time estimates for each room & appliance or load of laundry that needs to be done. Different cleaning personnel clean at different rates & standards, so having knowledge of a previous home cleaning professional may be used as a guide, but not a race as to when the job should be finished. Granny's Way House Cleaning Chores, LLC does not like anything half done, if there is a task that requires more time or effort to cleanup than anticipated, it gets done and not mentioned sometimes, as opposed to being left a mess for the client to look at & clean up afterwards. With the combination of sqft, items to be cleaned such as appliances or glass & mirrors, floor materials it should get us both understanding the time & effort for your specific needs & unique finishes in your home to get an estimate of time. You pay per hour, so we multiply the hourly rate times the number of hours I work. There are blocks of time that can be reserved to make it easier to have a start & end time for busy days or maybe if there are specific needs, but not a typical cleaning of the whole home. They can be 3 hours, 4 hours, 5 hours, or more. Expectations & needs stillneed to be communicated for planning of what products, items to bring & PPE is needed.
  • Do you clean litter boxes & outside animal waste or feed animals that are outside while you are there?
    No, due to severe allergies, Granny's Way House Cleaning Chores, LLC does not provide Pet Waste Cleanup, animal care or litter box scooping, changing, or cleaning. However, if there is a stain in the carpet or rug that has been treated previously by the owner, spot treatment or Hoover Wet Shampoo may be requested for infrequent & insignificant spot treatments when spot treatment cleaner is provided if the carpet or rug will be vacuumed as part of the scheduled cleaning.
  • Do the cleaning cloths get washed with other cleaning cloths or clothes after my home or office is cleaned?
    Granny's Way House Cleaning Chores, LLC washes each client's individual bag of cloths, dusters, mop heads & rags apart from anything else in the washer & hang dry inside on a clothesline marked with the name. Then the items are folded & placed back into the same bag for the next service of that client's home or office. This prevents cross-contamination, pet homes from non-pet homes or cat homes vs dog homes from being mixed together. There is no pollen in the air to cause allergies & no scents from detergents, no chemicals from dryer sheets, no feathers in dusters for those who are prone to sensitivities to these products. Also, different vacuums are used in homes without pets, with cats & with dogs. Each time a vacuum is used, it goes through a thorough cleaning to be fresh & clean for the next client. Most clients prefer their own vacuum to be used, so their vacuum gets the same thorough cleaning after it is used by Granny's Way House Cleaning Chores, LLC.
  • How do I pepare my oven for an interior cleaning? do I turn on the self-clean?
    The only thing needed to prepare for the interior of your oven to be cleaned is to make sure it is turned off & cool when Granny's Way Cleaning Chores, LLC arrives. It would be nice to have the pots or pans that are stored inside the oven to be removed. No need to run any self-clean cycle. Do not spray or add any cleaning products to the oven. If you do run a self-clean cycle, it is important to remove the metal shelves ahead of time, because they will change color from the length of time that they ae exposed to the higher heat of the oven self-clean cycle. Do not cook in your oven the day you need it cleaned. We bring all supplies & cleaners for interior of appliances to be cleaned.
  • How often should I be cleaning out my fridge or freezer & the water filter?
    The frequency of cleaning & sorting items in fridge & freezer is different for each home. It can be 1ce or 2ce a year, or seasonally, or monthly. It should be part of a move-in cleaning & part of a move-out cleaning. It is part of a Turn-Around cleaning at a short-term rental such as BNB. Fridge & freezer cleaning is a big task if there is not time set aside to do it. Granny's Way House Cleaning Chores, LLC takes the load off by doing this for you. It can be scheduled when family are at work or at school, so not a lot of people are reaching in to remove or add any items to the fridge or freezer during the cleaning. It can be done between mealtimes. Cleaning includes top, shelves, drawers, bins, walls, & bottom. contents are wiped & lids closed. Items are placed back in with size & shape in mind & condiments will be grouped if possible. Seal will be wiped & exterior will be wiped & handles sanitized. Water filters do not take more than 10 mins when a new water filter is provided. If a new filter is not provided, Granny's Way House Cleaning Chores, LLC will order one based on the manufacturer model label on your fridge or freezer. The water filter is removed, a new one is installed & the month is noted on it. The water gets flushed to remove air per the filter directions. The pitcher used to flush the air out is washed & set aside to air dry. The ice will be removed & reset for a new fresh tray.
  • My dishwasher has never been cleaned & I do not know where the filter is on my dishwasher, how do you find it?
    Most newer dishwashers have built-in washable filters that need to be cleaned regularly. I would look up the make, Model & SN of the dishwasher. There should be a product label on the top or side of the dishwasher door when it is open. Some filters can be removed with no tools, others need tools to remove the screen to access the filter. Cleaning the filter & interior of the dishwasher helps get your dishes cleaner, reduce odors from the dishwasher.   • How long does a cleaning take?
    Each home is unique in the desired needs of cleaning. Some homes have minimal decor, with no pets or children in the home. These homes typically take less time than a home with photos, decorations & personal items to be moved or cleaned / dusted or homes with pets or children in the home. Deep cleanings require more effort & take more time than regular detailed cleanings. Glass such as windows, glass doors or walls in bathrooms, mirrors, & sliding doors all take time to remove soap, water, debris & dust. Homes with these that are requested to be cleaned each time take longer than homes that do not request these to be done. A property turn-over cleaning is more in-depth than a weekly or monthly cleaning, as it is like a move-out & move-in cleaning, ensuring no items were left behind & setting up for the next guest. Less Sqft does not mean less time. Each home has different needs & services, so each home has its own unique amount of time it will take to perform. Most cleaning appointments are 3-5 hours in length. the first appointment will take longer, as the place is new & the routine & supplies or finishes are not familiar. Once a home is cleaned 2 or 3 times, more can be done in the time, so the home gets additional added on items or is finished sooner. The add-ons are either one time or regular as needed items that are used to fill in the time or to be cleaned as they are needed & add time in future cleaning sessions. Chores, such as laundry are per hr and currently 2 clean loads are put away & hung up in 1 hr. Running the 1st 2 loads, adds time for the machines to do their jobs. Other cleaning or organizing drawers & closets can be done if requested in this time. Bathrooms avg 1 hr, each, kitchen avg 45 mins to 1.5 hrs depending on if the sink has dirty dishes in it or if the dishwasher needs to be emptied, or if the stovetop is a cooktop or has burners to be removed & grates cleaned. Appliances are add-on that add to the time. They can be done with a cleaning or scheduled on a different day to be done as a set of chores.
